 Arterial Network seeks Capacity Building Intern

Arterial Network is looking for a Capacity Building Intern, in this role you will have the opportunity to assist in planning, coordinating and executing local and international training workshops and seminars.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Arterial Network is a dynamic network of individuals, organisations, donors, companies and institutions engaged in the African creative and cultural sector. The organisation seeks to formulate African-centred strategies and solutions to accelerate the growth and prominence of the creative sector in Africa, enabling dialogue, information exchange and the strengthening of partnerships between creative communities, government, business, NGO’s and academia.

As the Capacity Building Intern, you will work across all the projects and programmes related to the Capacity Building portfolio supporting the Project Manager. Your responsibilities will include: providing support in collecting information from programmes participants (forms, feedback), capturing (and verifying) data for M&E and development purposes, liaising with candidates and participants, making travel and accommodation arrangements, making contributions and researches for further programmes development. You should be available to work in the organisation for a minimum of 5 months, 40 hours a week. This internship is unpaid.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Bi-lingual; French and English
  • Some experience in Project Management, Research and Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel

Job Description

 

Responsibility: To assist in project management, data capturing, relationship management and Programme development of Capacity Building programmes.

 

Accountable to: will work under supervision of the Capacity Building and Market Access Project Manager.

 

You will be required to provide support in some or all of the following, subject to the nature and size of the project. If you are proactive and reliable, more responsibilities can be assigned to you.

 

  1. Provide organizational, logistical and administrative support for identified projects including, but not limited to the following:

 

Under the supervision of the Managers:

1.1  Assist in the coordination of logistics related to special events including but not limited to training sessions, public seminars and conferences

1.1.1      Venue booking

1.1.2      Ensuring administrative needs are met (stationary, publications)

1.1.3      Technical support plans (equipment, audiovisual, wifi, furniture layout, decor etc)

1.1.4      Catering

1.1.5      Invitations and Guest hospitality-scheduling and information

1.2  Liaising with local coordinators or programmes participants

1.2.1      Collect (and follow up) relevant forms and feedback according to calendar and structure agreed upon for each programme

1.2.2      Send feedback or information to candidates or participants before and after the trainings

1.3  Capture and verify data collected for Monitoring & Evaluation as well as development purposes

1.3.1      Verify and finalize trainers database

1.3.2      Ensure (see 1.3.1) all information required have been received from all participants according to the methodology and project plans.

1.3.3      Capture results of all feedback forms and evaluation tools for each programme

1.3.4      Compile/Update content and information collected into relevant documents (reports, toolkits etc.)
